Grief

When we experience loss, the effects don’t usually just leave with time. The good news is that there are ways in which we can explore loss that brings healing, growth, and deeper meaning to life. Whether it’s the death of a loved one, being fired from a job, the end of a relationship, the loss of a pet, the unfulfillment of a dream, or any other loss, sitting in a therapeutic space can help us walk with those losses and help make them more bearable. Grief therapy is a way to help you grow your heart bigger around the loss you’ve experienced.

My approach to grief work is to help you honor and remember that which you’ve lost, or in the case of complicated grief, to untangle the messy emotions that you might experience in order for you to not feel permanently stuck in pain. There is no denying that many endings can hurt, but you can become empowered to move beyond the pain and overwhelming sadness. It’s a process not a pathology to cure. Pain and loss are inevitable, suffering is not.
